A New Audi 2011 A3
Changes for the 2011 A3 include a new high-gloss black treatment on the car’s single-frame grille element and B-pillars, as well as chrome accents on lower air inlets. The A3’s side mirrors have also been revised, and all models – save for the S3 – now feature chrome strips in the door handles. Outback, the A3 features a new diffuser and the three-door models sports tinted taillights.
Marking the line’s second revision since 2008, Audi has announced a host of changes for the 2011 model year A3 range. All A3 models – A3, A3 Sportback, A3 Cabriolet and S3 – will see slight exterior revisions, as well as power-train improvements.
The A3 buyers will have four new exterior colors to choose from for the 2011 model year — Volcano Red, Dakota Gray, Amethyst Gray and Scuba Blue. Also on offer will be two new 17-inch wheels design and one new 18-inch wheel.
There is no shortage of ʍ engine options for the 2011 model year, with nine on offer – five gas units and four diesel mills. The base 2011 ʍ comes equipped with a supercharged 1.2L, making 105 horsepower and returning 42mpg. The 200 horsepower 2.0 TFSI is the most powerful gas version of the standard ʍ, with the ́ capping the range with a 265 horsepower version of Audi’s 2.0L.
The diesel A3 range includes engines displacing between 1.6L and 2.0L. The 90 horsepower 1.6 TDI is the most economical of the bunch, returning nearly 62mpg. The 170 horsepower 2.0 TDI sits atop the diesel A3 range. Five of the engines on offer feature Audi’s start/stop technology – the 1.2 TFSI, the 1.4 TFSI, the 105hp version of the 1.6 TDI and two versions of the 2.0 TDI.
Most 2011 A3 models come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, although six- and seven-speed versions of Audi’s S tronic gearbox are available.
